AKHANDA NAMAM

In a lifetime, any individual can realise the Brahman through various means as mentioned in the Srimad Bhagavad Gita. One of them is the path of devotion, known as Bhakti Yoga, which aims at attaining liberation through the worship of the divine. At its essence, it entails the quest for the divine inherent in each individual as an integral part of self-realization. The teachings of Prahlada expound the methods in this path, delineating nine sub-sects, including recital, remembrance, listening, etc. Among these, the primary practice embraced at the Ashramam is the sub-path of keerthanam (recital).

In this area, another important node is Akhanda Hare Rama Naamam. It was determined and instituted by Sri Sri Sri Sitaram Gurudevulu in the year 2006, on the eve of Sri Sri Sri Sitarama Yateendrula centenary year.. Round the clock, this recitation goes on in 12 batches of 2 hours each. Different people from nearby villages reach and participate. This recitation of divine words, as per theosophy, registers positive entries in this universal compendium called “Akashic Records”, a log of happenings in the “Sky” element. Such records have the power to manifest the way we exist, the way the things happen around us and therefore are to be filled with positivity. Being in the presence of such a positive reservoir makes our thought processes more righteous, meaningful, and free from any impurities created by past actions.
